"do you see them?" he asks quietly, finger cutting through the air as it follows the path of a snowflake.
"yeah," you say, and you lean forward so your chin rests on his shoulder. your arms fit snugly around his waist, and you feel the pulsing of his heart as if it were your own.
"i wish i could catch them, they're so pretty. they're like the children of christmas," he says mournfully, his palm outstretched in front of him, collecting snowflakes that melt the second they come into contact with his warm skin.
